It won’t be long until making MLB picks today is going to be an option again. The MLB season will once again be back in late March-early April, and it will provide the first real glimpse of spring and warm weather.

Baseball is not the only sport that continues to deliver great games, though, and 2022 was a year that was full of them. Sports fans can only hope that 2023 is just as exciting, but it’s going to be hard to top what was seen in 2022.

You could put together an extensive and comprehensive list of great games in 2022, but there were also some that stood out above the rest. Here is a look at the top six games that took place in 2022, across all sports.

FIFA World Cup Final

The World Cup comes around just once every four years, and that helps make it one of the most important sporting events in the world. This is also an event that has a following from countries all over the globe, and it creates an unbelievable environment.

The entire tournament delivered plenty of drama and big moments, but the final between France and Argentina sealed the deal. Argentina was able to come away with the victory in penalty kicks to give Lionel Messi a title.

Bills-Chiefs Change the Rules

When the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs met up in the 2022 NFL Playoffs, everyone knew it was going to be an absolute battle. It was a shame that this game wasn’t for the Super Bowl, as it was one of the best NFL games that has ever been played.

Kansas City ended up picking up an impressive comeback win over Buffalo, and they got the win in overtime. The Chiefs scored a touchdown on the first possession, and Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills never got the ball.

This game was so great that it caused the NFL to change the overtime rules for the postseason to give both teams the football.

Alabama-Georgia, Part II2

The College Football Playoff title game is always one of the biggest games of the year, and there was a terrific matchup on January 10, 2022. It was the second meeting of the season between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs.

There were a ton of NFL prospects on the field in that game, and it was a battle for all four quarters. Ultimately it was Georgia that was able to get some revenge on Alabama and win the national title.

Mariners Stun Blue Jays

The Seattle Mariners were able to sneak into the MLB Playoffs in 2022 after having a long drought of very little success. Seattle was a team that had a ton of young and exciting players, but everyone was waiting to see how they would react to playoff baseball.

Toronto took an 8-1 lead into the 6th inning in Game 2, and a win meant that the series would have headed back to Seattle. The Mariners were looking to eliminate the Blue Jays right then and there, and they stormed all the way back to pick up the 10-9 win.

UNC-Duke One Final Time

The UNC Tar Heels and Duke Blue Devils have a long history, and it’s one of the best rivalries in all of sports. The two teams had never met up in the NCAA Tournament before 2022, but that all changed in the Final Four.

Not only was a trip to the National Championship Game on the line, but this was also the final game in the legendary career of Coach K. It was the Tar Heels that pulled off the upset as they continued their improbable run in the month of March.

Bengals Beat Chiefs in Thriller

In the AFC Championship Game, the Chiefs were looking to make a return trip to the Super Bowl. Kansas City looked to be well on their way with a 21-10 halftime lead, but Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals had other ideas.

This was a coming-out party for Burrow and the Bengals’ offense as they lit up the Kansas City Chiefs in the second half. You should expect more battles between Cincinnati and Kansas City moving forward.
