Peter Falk, Dead at 83

It was only Monday that I was fondly remembering Peter Falk’s cameo on the park bench in The Great Muppet Caper. Readers of Unwinnable will most likely remember him best as the the grandfather and narrator of The Princess Bride. Most everyone else knows him as Lt. Columbo.

I never really cared for Columbo, but my dad sure did. I think he watched every one of those mysteries a dozen times but every time one was on, there the channel stayed.

Falk died peacefully in his sleep last night, at the age of 83, leaving behind a career long and varied for us to remember him by.
