Razor Blades or Fancy Pants: The Story of The Real Peaky Blinders

Street gangs ran amuck in Birmingham, England, during the Industrial Revolution. The Peaky Blinders were one such gang comprised of children as young as 11 years old. The harsh economic conditions in the working class neighborhoods fueled their desire to attain power and influence through violence and crime. This gang was distinctive though: they had a keen sense of fashion. They wore a signature outfit that included tailored jackets, silk scarves and peaked flat caps. But unlike their Hollywood namesakes, these children lived harsh lives and spent more time in prison than in tailor shops. In this episode, Jen will tell you the story of the real Peaky Blinders.
