Mark’s Commentary:
One of the most memorable people I ever worked with was this 65-year-old lady who was a retired dancer. She had been a dancer for some classic Motown groups and had such a fun and quirky personality. Needless to say, we got along just fine. Several times when I would enter the office, she would do karate moves in my direction. And with every chop or kick she shouted, “Wakow!” and “Wakoom!” So when Finkus returned with the Flabberbot to uppercut Ultra Arcadia, I knew I needed a good onomatopoeia and I couldn’t think of a better one than “WAKOOM!”
