LittleBigPlanet 2 has some incredible tools in its toolbox. They are extremely impressive, not just in their power, but in their ease of use. Now, it is debatable whether the world really needs player-produced content in their videogames – though the PC modding community does some amazing things (have you seen Cinematic Mod 10 for Half-life 2? Adriana Lima notwithstanding, that is some impressive work). The LBP2 community is becoming just as ambitious.
The easiest way to showcase LBP2‘s power is to remake another game. I tracked down the best LittleBigPlanet 2 remake videos for Complex. But that’s not all!
I also had the opportunity to interview Martin Lynagh, producer at Media Molecule, about the development of LBP2 and how to best use some of those tools. I also asked him how he dressed up his Sackboy:
This may not be the most creative costume out there, but I usually like to dress my Sackboy in a beanie hat and sunglasses.
Lastly, this video didn’t fit in to the remake list because, technically, it is a movie and not a playable game remake. But it is still awesome (and better than the game itself).
