May Lucas Force This Upon Us
The long-anticipated Blu-ray release of Star Wars is quickly approaching. Though most of us are filled with excitement and have had the boxed set on preorder for months, there is much hesitation as to whether Mr. Lucas is done in the editing room. Sadly, he is not.
Though some of the initial changes are relatively harmless or provide a much-needed technological bump, it’s hard to argue that some others are unnecessary and distracting from the original films. Slash Film reports that there will be a handful of new changes to the films, and those will be easily spotted throughout. One of those changes is the removal of the Yoda puppet from Episode I. He is being replaced with his CGI counterpart from the following two episodes. Though I’m still excited to finally have the opportunity to experience the films in high-definition, I’m now more than a little apprehensive of the surprises George has in store for us this fall.
