Dear Reader,
As you may know, we’ve been running an Official Unofficial subscription drive to do a Final Fantasy Theme issue. I pinned it at 100 new subscribers and we’re into the last quarter of the drive! Something that’s been great about this drive is how many lapsed subscribers have rejoined the journey, how many new friends we’ve made and how much people genuinely are excited about us doing this. That’s probably the most flattering part of it. So, if you subscribed during our drive and this is your first outing, hey! Welcome! If you’ve shared our drive, thanks!
Our cover feature this month is Orrin Grey on the ultimate G-man, Godzilla. Why he did not do this for the Kawaiiju theme issue I do not know. Cover art by Xenofauna. Also joining us this month are Samantha Trzinski on geese and Charles Huang on a Prince of Persia.
And now, the regular people doing their regular thing. Oh wait! Oluwatayo Adewole? A beautiful sighting of an irregular, regular! Huzzah! Elijah Beahm’s thoughts are Legion. Maddi Chilton dissects your cozy little world. Emma Kostopolus comes for your fridged wives. Matt Marrone’s family console is not what you’d think. Natasha Ochshorn slogs through one show while inventing a much better one. Dr. Emily Price cracks out the cards. Rob Rich gets a shock to the system, too. Levi Rubeck punches a guy in the pit, emotionally. Ben Sailer bets on a band in it for the love of the game. Phoenix Simms confronts a kind of coziness and comfort. Is this a secret cozy theme sub issue?
A lot going on right now in the world but the thing I want to say is that if you’re reading this, it’s because you have some love of culture. And if that’s true, which I hope it is, the enemies are at the gates. We’re living in a critical moment of censorship and thought policing and I ask that between now and the next letter you please take one action to hold the line. A better world is possible but we need to work for it when we can and fight for it all the time.
See you all in the next Exploits!
