Dear Reader,
We’re nearing the close of our surprise Final Fantasy Theme drive. By the time you read this, we might have actually hit it! It’s been a joy to connect with people and if we have hit it, we’ll be working on announcing a date and setting up additional goals so we can maximize how special this issue is for everyone. Once again, thank you for your support!
Our cover feature this month is Ashley Schofield on Disco Elysium. Cover art by Shafer Brown. Also joining us this month is Dayten Rose on butterflies!
And now, the regular people doing their regular thing. Elijah Beahm goes under the sea, once more, with feeling. Emma Kostopolus dreams of Silent Hill. Matt Marrone wrote a movie. Natasha Ochshorn goes back to high school. Emily Price cooks her way through the skies. Justin Reeve returns to Hyrule to rebuild. Rob Rich is handy around the house. Levi Rubeck searches, feels the love tonight. Ben Sailer convinces me that the Bosstones and the Deftones are in fact two different bands. Phoenix Simms weaves a Southern tapestry. Noah Springer proves Emma is not the only one channeling Kafka this issue. Alyssa Wejebe hangs out with some clever girls.
I’d like to ask you a few favors this issue. First, look in on your friends and community. Unwinnable has always been a strong anti-fascist publication and part of that mission starts close to home. Take a second to ask someone how they are, if they’re okay, or ask them to get a beverage and just be present with them. Second, be good to yourselves. Take that walk, pet that friendly animal, get that milkshake. We need you, you’re essential. And finally, do something, maybe even just something small, to help build something bigger than yourself. The world is a big place quickly being ruined by kleptocrats. We can stop them, but only together, one day at a time.
See you all in the next Exploits!
