Dear Reader,

As you may know, we’ve been running an Official Unofficial subscription drive to do a Final Fantasy Theme issue. I pinned it at 100 new subscribers and we’re over halfway there!

Publisher Stu Horvath also recently reminded me that Unwinnable has been operating over 15 years. I want to make sure that you, dear reader, understand what a huge part of that you have been. Whether this is your first month or your 50th, the passionate, dedicated readers of Unwinnable have kept us in business and helped keep us able to bring on new and exciting voices over that whole stretch of time. Thank you and here’s to another 15 and the 15 after that!

Our cover feature this month comes to us via Giorgio Chiappa and is a study in home towns. Cover art by Zack Giallongo. Also joining us this month is Dayten Rose ruminating on the procedural generation of Shadows of Doubt.

We’re also got Autumn Wright performing the Funeral Rites for Print Weaver and an excerpt from a forthcoming Boss Fight Books book penned by Unwinnable contributor Alexander B. Joy.

And now, the regular people doing their regular thing. Elijah Beahm catches some strays. Jay Castello reaches a new Peak. Maddi Chilton dives into an extremely specific thing that requires a lot of explanation. Emma Kostopolus brings us together by scaring the heck out of us. Matt Mambo’s saga continues, dead inside. Natasha Ochshorn gives us a look at her thesis. Emily Price goes fishing in the main-stream. Rob Rich refuses to earn his sea legs. Levi Rubeck plays with a soulless robot. Ben Sailer is full of hell. Phoenix Simms argues for some nuance. Noah Springer went to LA once. Alyssa Wejebe RESISTS!

ICE out of our cities, ICE out of our country.

See you all in the next Exploits!
