Dear Reader,
Putting together an issue of Unwinnable is grounding for me. I’ve been on the road a lot this last month. Since Kawaiiju, I’ve spent more weekends away from home than here. Occasionally, I’ve put issues together on the road but this is working on a thing that goes beyond me. And I love it.
This month we’re featuring Will Borger on the ways players are being turned into cash engines. We’ve also got Jay Castello doing field work from Summer Games Fest.
Also please check out this amazing work from Zack Giallongo.
For this month’s Funeral Rites, brought to you by our friends at Exalted Funeral, Justin Reeve hides from Outcast Silver Raiders.
As for the accounting of our regular rogues…We’re getting a double dose of Jay Castello! Maddi Chilton does more books, man. Blake Hester dares to look up. Emma Kostopolus has some of the worst coworkers. Matt Marrone lives in an Evil place. Emily Price delves into our most recent forgotten past. Justin Reeve builds a racecar. Rob Rich gives us a shock to the system. Levi Rubeck wakes from a 22-year slumber. Ben Sailer embraces Fargo. Phoenix Simms looks to the next Dragon Age. Noah Springer rejoins the Wasteland.
I’ve been watching a lot of The Boys, rereading Dune, and in the spirit of so many global elections (as well as a lot of our columns this month), beware of charismatic leaders. Distrust those who seek power. Do something to help built a world more just, healthy and sustainable.
See you all in the next Exploits!
