Bring on the Badass
Over the past few weeks the crew at Knights of Badassdom have been consistently rolling natural 20’s.
Knights of Badassdom is the current project of director Joe Lynch and screen writers Kevin Dreyfuss and Matt Wall. The movie follows the story of a group of dorks who accidentally summon a demon while playing a live action role-playing game.
The Knights had a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, which means you need to bring your ‘A’ game. Enter the exclusive Comic-Con trailer:
Now with the final pieces set in place it is time to get the word out there.
This isn’t the first time there has been a movie about LARPing though. Those of the right age group might remember a TV movie called Mazes and Monsters starring a young Tom Hanks warning society of the evils involved in playing games with your friends. Mazes and Monsters was a very corny movie, and I used to have a copy of it on VHS – then I loaned it to a rock star. I never saw that tape again; however, that is a story for another time.
In all honesty, I think the trailer looks awesome and has all the right amounts of blood and titillation. It has everything – little dudes, heavy metal, large swords and chicks in the woods.
Sounds like a very good time.
