Coffee Break With Snake ‘n’ Bacon
I’m a big fan of Michael Kupperman’s Tales Designed To Thrizzle. It’s one of the most absurd and hysterical comics I’ve read since my uncle gave me a stack of Steve Gerber Howard The Duck comics as a kid. In 2009, Mr. Kupperman and company put together a pilot for Adult Swim. It hit YouTube last week. Enjoy!
The Lost Script – A PAX East Adventure
A few nights ago, Team Unwinnable shot a short film. Shortly after the fact, Ken Lucas met Geddy Lee. Geddy Lee, in all his magnificent benevolence, bestowed one super power on Ken, a power of Ken’s choosing. Ken chose Death Ray. Unfortunately, Ken was holding the video camera when Mr. Lee gave Ken his Death Ray power. The film is survived by its writer and screenplay. Enjoy.
Dream of the (early) 90’s: The Simpsons Sing The Blues
If NPR’s All Songs Considered is to be believed, 90’s nostalgia is now a “Thing.” That’s all well and good, but I think that when they talk about being nostalgic for the 90’s, most people are probably thinking about the mid-90’s, when a puritanical, authenticity-obsessed notion of coolness was in vogue for a few minutes. They tend to forget about the early 90’s, a pop culture epoch so corny it almost rivaled the variety show era of the 1970’s. It was the time of Club MTV, the puppet sitcom Dinosaurs, and Ugly Kid Joe. The Simpsons Sing the Blues was
A Very Special Presidents’ Day Challenge
On Presidents’ Day, Unwinnable revealed that contributor Dave Trainer might be a descendant of John Wilkes Booth and called for a scion of Lincoln to give him a thrashing in the boxing ring. No champion has come forth. In honor of Independence Day, we renew our call.
A Date To Remember Part 2: Schizophrenia Should Not Be Ignored
Previously on Unwinnable, Kevin got into a shopping cart crash, met a beautiful lady and the went to dinner. She really liked comparing Friends to the Bible…. Now, onto Part 2! (RED FLAG #6: Verbal diarrhea cannot be cured with Imodium… or Wine.) To be honest, I was really lost as to what she was talking about until she, thankfully, asked me a question: “So tell me about your family.” Excited to finally speak, I began: “Well, I have one brother–” Interrupting, Jennifer exclaimed, “–I have a brother! My parents love my brother. My sisters love my brother. My ex-boyfriends
Unwinnable Theater Review: The Pee-Wee Herman Show
Well, you’ve been waiting for it and now here it is: Unwinnable’s first theater review! Yes, I saw The Pee-Wee Herman Show at the Stephen Sondheim theater in NYC on Halloween weekend, and it was pretty great! I figured I should write a little something to justify paying for the tickets with money from the Unwinnable petty cash jar, but I’ll keep things nice and vague here. The show is full of nice little surprises and I’d hate to spoil them for anyone who’s planning on seeing it in the future (and I do recommend seeing it!).
