I've come to the understanding that I'll never have the time to read every book, see every movie, or play every game that sparks my curiosity; even if I did, I would just be consuming it mindlessly without the critical reflection necessary to get the most out of a work. I'll take a drawn out close reading over a superficial one any day, even if it's Monster Squad.
