I genuinely struggle to understand the mindset that there's something intrinsically mystical and superior about a drunken snog with an acquaintance of an hour or two in a nightclub playing music too loud to speak, compared to the equivalent time spent talking online.

That said, I'm biased since I met my wife online, back in the days before Facebook and online dating, and we've been together for over a decade. Would we have ever ended up together without the endless nights of just talking? Almost certainly not.
