You never have to take a side. You never have to fight. You have no CORE beliefs. Everything is O.K. because SOMEONE believes it's O.K. There's nothing wrong in North Korea, where the people are starving and if they don't like it, they go to re-education camps. Or in Iran, where a young girl is raped by her uncle, becomes pregnant, and is ostracized by her family. Who am I to say there's something wrong with these cultures, right? No, wrong. These cultures, are broken. Be it religion, or good old fashion power-mongers, the people live as prisoners in their own country. There is freedom and slavery. Right and wrong. Good and evil.
