Pretty sure Eddie King is based on Stephen (middle name Edwin) King himself. I'm fairly certain he says as much in one of the introductions, but I'll be damned if I can remember which one...

I, too, have grown up with King, and am currently living next door to the grocery store that The Mist takes place in, in a house that would be Under The Dome, right on Kansas St. in Bridgton, just up the road from the house where Roland met Sai King. In other words... I know how you feel.

Like I'm living in a fairy-story.

Hi Brian,
I write from Italy, so please forgive my bad english.
I'm 47 years and I'm reading IT for the third time. 20 years had passed from the last time that I had this book in my hands. I was young.
I found it some days ago in an old cupboard in the cellar. The book swelled, the pages are getting yellow and smelling of must. I love it. I love IT.
I travelled too little in my life, never to America. I often say that travellers leave in search of an impossible new birth and that I don't need that. It is obviously an excuse.
But there are places, real or imaginary (and Derry in one of those, the first of the list), that I do not want to know in any other way than through the story of a writer.
If Derry would exist and I would visit it, I would be surely disappointed. I see myself wandering around, watching every boy riding a bike and regretting that he is not Bill, looking for a red haired girl followed by a adoring 12 fatty (do you think it is pathological at my age to feel in love with Beverly? I hope it's not. I'm not a good husband: I love two women, may wife and Bev!).
Thank you for your tour of Derry and thank you to S.K. for his unforgettable portrait of friendship, love, suffering for growth, persistence of childhood memories.
If you meet him, please tell him that I'm very grateful.
