Amen, brother. Reading this was like reading something I wrote, and then forgot I had written. From now on, when someone doesn't get why I always pick the evil choices in games, why I have to play a necromancer or blackguard in D&D, why I condemn the hero and love movies with unhappy endings, this is where I am pointing them.

In my early teens, I was pretty familiar with my inner villain. I got in love with Fable: The Lost Chapters and other games which had some freeddom of moral spectrum. I killed people for pleasure (and experience points) and just wanted to watch the world burn.
Now my inner villain is dormant, calmer. He sometimes goes on murderous rampages, but they are only small, quick bursts. Nowadays the dominant persona within me is more of a quick-tempered anti-hero who is almost always in a bad mood. He will help people if the payment is good, and will kill people if they are either hostile or too annoying.
