I know where you are coming from... Over-weight... under exercised... Hard to break the easy habits... They have a gym at my work, so I go Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and treadmill for 3.5 MPH, for 20 minutes... Not a lot.. but it's more excersize than I have gotten in the past 3 years or so. I go with another co-worker. I also started keeping track of my calories. 'Lost it!' App for the iPOD. I haven't changed my eating habits really, just need to know how much I am putting away. Set myself some goals... (2 pounds a week)... I wont see results for quite some time... but I may see them someday. It doesn't take MUCH out of me... I don't like the gym... but 20 minutes a day is not so bad. It's either that, or I schedule another conference call! Get yourself a jogging buddy, helps keep you on track!

It's ok. There is actually little to no actual science linking cholesterol to higher mortality rates. It's more a game of selling pills to people because they're scared of "bad cholesterol". There is no significant correlation between high cholesterol and heart disease either. It's just kind of a persistent myth that hasn't gone away yet. Body weight and fatty deposits in blood and brain are far more serious issues to worry about.
