I actually ran into Marc at IGN's weird little indie game party during GDC, and he was kind enough to pull out his laptop and let me play with a build of Miegakure. It was, as you speculate, totally baffling. I must've spent 45 minutes standing there playing it, and even though I faked my way through a half-dozen puzzles, I still feel like I only kind of scratched the surface of understanding that game. Marc told me that's by design - and maybe sinking more time into it in a quieter, more introspective setting without the developer watching me play it will solve that - but it's definitely hard to wrap your head around.

So who's going to volunteer to make a game about a 1D character granted the magical ability to move through 2D space?
