I still have to see the movie just haven't had enough time to check anthiyng out recently I have heard good things though which makes me want to check it out even more as far as what Miss Action Flick Chick has to say, I figured the two would make a great duo as both are really solid actors and what is this about them being great eye candy?? I'm offended by that statement, men aren't just a piece of meat to be ogled over haha, jk

I too was introduced to the melancholy detective 30 plus years ago, a little after high school. I so enjoyed the stories and the books. Easy to read, and always keeping my attention. I enjoyed the first movie but was very disappointed in this one. It seems like in an effort to keep the newer moving going crowd happy, fighting, special effects outweigh the idea of building characters and a storyline. In the movie I too found the fights quite tedious about half way through the movie.

In the stories Holmes seemed to spend a lot of time deducing things and explaining to Watson or Lestrade how he arrived at such deductions. Much of the stories revolved around their 221B Baker street digs and they investigated from their.

I honestly hadn't put House in with Holmes until you compared the two and I think you are 100% correct. Holmes was a little kinder to those around him however, but every bit as excentric.

Anyway, this movie, much like the last few James Bond movies where it goes right into car chases and action lose me. The don't build the characters, not the plot. Great review by the way. Thanks,
