Excellent point as well. The bottom dollar is, as ever, the bottom dollar.

However, I will use just about any platform I can to raise a clarion call for more artsy games. Just you try and stop me!

Given the nature of the proposal's language, it actually seems quite impotent. The same ambiguity that strikes fear into our gaming hearts could just as easily be used in defense of more "vulgar" titles. The guilt-free, repercussion-free bloodshed of so many scrutinized video games could reasonably be construed to represent a critique of our justice system, or even of the very real depravities that thrive on our plane of existence.

Obviously, these become subjective arguments, and the unfortunate likelihood is that a conservative judge (redundant much?) would more often than not side with his fellow crotchety old white man. Fortunately for us, and in defense of that justice system we so often and so violently critique (at least in my interpretation of video games), we've got ourselves an appeal process. And it worked.

Given that, the best thing gamer and game designers can do is to whatever they've been doing. And when those chumps that want to censor games come along, just point to the quarterly profits of any major gaming company. Let us not forget, after all, that for these chumps, the one thing that trumps a moral imperative is the free market.
