The update fixes a lot of the problems I had with the game, especially one I did not mention in the article: tablet play. The original was very buggy on both my Nook Color and my Acer Iconia, and the new version runs on both like a champ.

The new one is, indeed, unwinnable. I've beaten every Regular and Hard level on the first full version; since the June 2011 update, however, I have yet to get further than wave 39 on level 1 Regular.
