Wally West never failed it's DC Comic, Warner Bros, and the 21st century writers that turned him into an hyper-active, bi-polar moron and made him fail. Wally West comes first because he was trained by his Uncle Barry Allen from what I read in old school comics. But I do agree on Ryan Reynolds on one point that he said in 2006 before Green Lantern in 2011:

Ryan Reynolds "If there fans are going to see the Flash they should see the Flash through the eyes of Wally West."

Thanks for reading, Hyperion.

I see your point about Bart not wanting to be Kid Flash originally, but people and characters change. Look at me, I swore I wouldn't read another DC super hero comic (Waid's Flash and Batman Adventures aside) after Zero Hour and Emerald Twilight, but then Grant Morrison came on JLA.

I was aware of Bart back then and read the crossovers with The Flash but I wasn't a regular reader of Impulse. It's one of the few books I've been meaning to go back to. That said, Johns brought me to that character. When Bart read the whole library... that was cool!

And Bart Allen? Really, Ian?

I could say the same for you...did you even read the series?

It took Geoff Johns’ take on the character in Teen Titans to get me to see what was cool about Bart.

No. Nonononono. If it took you until Johns’ Teen Titans to become a fan of Bart, something’s wrong. There’s a unique, shall we say, charm he had as Impulse - untamable, impossible to pin down; that was taken away when someone (I’m looking at you, Berganza) came up with the oh-so-brilliant decision to shoehorn him into becoming Kid Flash (an idea that Bart himself openly rejected whenever it was brought up - before TT).

And don’t get me started on his treatment of Inertia...Thad’s one of the very few characters whom I rely substantially on fanfic to explain, personality-wise - his mainstream characterisation 2006-onward is that bad.
